When the World Feels Against You: Finding Peace in the Storm 🌪️

I just had a heartfelt conversation with my nephew, a truly sweet soul who’s feeling the weight of the world on his shoulders. Despite his hard work and dedication, he’s grappling with a sense of inadequacy. He deserves more appreciation, more joy, and a life that feels less like an uphill battle. Yet, it seems like one little thing after another keeps niggling at him, pushing him further into frustration.

I shared some thoughts with him that I believe can resonate with many of us: when you feel like the universe is against you, it’s often because there are deeper things within you that you are resisting. Life has a way of reflecting our internal state. If we feel turmoil and chaos inside, we often attract experiences that mirror those feelings.

So, what do you do when the world feels like it’s crashing down around you? When you feel like screaming, breaking things, or just losing your mind?

Acknowledge Your Feelings

First and foremost, acknowledge what you’re feeling. It’s okay to feel overwhelmed, frustrated, or even angry. Those emotions are valid, and denying them only prolongs the struggle. Instead of trying to suppress or dismiss these feelings, sit with them for a moment. Allow yourself to feel the weight of your emotions without judgment. Then ask yourself, “what shall I do now to feel better?”

Return to Neutral

Once you’ve acknowledged your feelings, it’s time to find your way back to a state of neutrality. This is crucial because when you resist your feelings, you’re essentially sending out a frequency to the universe that aligns with more negativity of resistance. The universe can only match your frequency, so if you’re stuck in a cycle of resistance, you’ll continue to attract situations that exacerbate that feeling.

So, how do you return to your neutral state? Here are some empowering strategies:

1. Create a Happy Space

Put on some uplifting music and dance like no one is watching. Move your body and let the rhythm wash over you. Music has a powerful ability to shift our energy and elevate our mood. Choose songs that inspire you, that fill your heart with joy, and let yourself get lost in the moment.

2. Connect with Nature

Take a walk outside, and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature. Feel the ground beneath your feet, breathe in the fresh air, and connect with the energy of the trees. Imagine what it’s like to be a tree, rooted, grounded, and present. Nature has a calming effect that can help restore your balance and is 100% high vibrations.

3. Seek Clarity, Not Complaining

Engage in conversations with those who uplift you, not those who compete in the “who has it worse” game. Seek out people who can provide clarity and perspective. Sometimes just expressing what you’re feeling to a supportive friend or mentor can help you process and release those emotions.

4. Meditate and Find Stillness

Set aside time for meditation. Close your eyes and allow yourself to be enveloped in a space of calm and tranquility. Create a sacred space where you won’t be disturbed. Turn off your phone, and let your family know you need some time alone. As you meditate, visualize the things you want more of in your life and feel everything that was weighing on you gradually fall away. Give yourself the gift of stillness.

5. Be more Grateful

I know from experience when I am holding on to resistance and feeling stressed, it’s because I have been focused on the lack of the things or experiences I don't have. I have basically spiralled in a vortex of lack and so of course that energy attracts to me more of that lack I have been so intensely focused on. Be grateful for the little things and intensely focus on them and the joy and appreciation you feel to have them and watch the energy within and around you become more magnetic to joy, wealth, love and ease.

6. Embrace Patience

Understand that it might take time to reach this state of calm. Be patient and loving with yourself. As you begin to find stillness within, you’ll notice that external chaos starts to fade. The little annoyances, like losing your keys, bumping into things, or missing appointments, will diminish and opportunities will be on the rise as you cultivate inner peace.

The Power of Stillness

When we don’t take the time to find stillness within, the universe will keep pushing us to confront that turmoil. It’s as if the universe is saying, “Hey, it’s time to pay attention!” Life becomes a series of chaotic experiences, urging us to slow down and reconnect with ourselves.

But once you start cultivating that stillness, you’ll find that life begins to flow at your own pace. You’ll start to see the beauty in the small moments, and the struggles that once felt overwhelming will begin to dissipate.
